Privacy policy

• We collect what we need to run your account and show your page — nothing more.
• We don't sell data, run ads, or use third-party trackers.
• Visitor statistics never include names or raw IP addresses. We keep a one-way code that changes every day, only so a visitor isn't counted twice on the same day.
• You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, at any time, from Settings.

When you create and use an account, we store:

• Account details — your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash; we can never see them.
• Your page — your username, display name, bio, profile photo, links, blocks, social accounts, design settings and saved designs.
• Files you upload — images and videos you add to your page.

Everything on your page is public once you publish it. Don't put anything on your page you wouldn't want anyone to see. You can unpublish it at any time.

When someone visits a Link OS page, we record a page view so the owner can see how their page is doing. Each page view contains:

• the date and time;
• a visitor code — a one-way hash made from the visitor's IP address, browser and the date. It changes every day and we don't store the IP address itself;
• the website they came from (the “referrer”), if their browser shares it;
• the type of device — phone, tablet or computer;
• an approximate country, only when our hosting provider supplies one.

When a visitor clicks a link, we record the time, which link it was and the referrer. Page owners only ever see totals and trends, never individual visitors.

To protect the service from abuse, IP addresses are also held briefly in server memory to limit how many requests one address can make. They are not written to our database.

• to create your account, sign you in and keep you signed in;
• to show your page to the people you share it with;
• to show you statistics about your page;
• to keep the service secure and working, and to prevent abuse.

We only use what's needed for the site to work:

• A sign-in cookie, set when you log in, which keeps you signed in. It isn't used for anything else.
• Your light / dark mode choice, saved in your browser's local storage.

We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Hosting. Link OS runs on servers provided by Railway, which store our database and uploaded files on our behalf.

Embedded content. If a page includes a YouTube video, a Spotify player or another embed, that content loads directly from the provider when a visitor views it, and their own privacy policy applies to it.

Links. Links on pages lead to other websites we don't control. Their privacy practices are their own.

We don't sell or rent personal information to anyone.

We keep your account, page and statistics for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account details, page, links, designs, statistics and uploaded files are deleted from our systems. Copies may remain in backups for a short time before they are overwritten.

• See and change your information at any time in your dashboard and Settings.
• Hide your page by switching it to Draft — it stops being public straight away.
• Delete everything with “Delete account” in Settings. This can't be undone.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as asking for a copy of your data. Contact us and we'll help.

Link OS isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Connections to Link OS are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and each account can only change its own page. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will act quickly if something goes wrong.

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear on the site.
